Božović: After the Podgorica elections, there will be parliamentary elections as well

The servile policy, an extended arm of the regime in Serbia, steeped in fascism, is trying to destabilize Montenegro in order not to prevent its path to the European Union, President of the Regional Academy for the Development of Democracy Balša Božović told the central news program 24 Sat on Television E.

"The task they have is clear, and that policy will continue to destabilize Montenegro as long as they have that number of votes in the elections. I think that in the next elections, both in Podgorica and in some subsequent general elections, they will not be able to expect the kind of support they had, which is a kind of inertia from 2020 until today, but neither in Nikšić, nor in many other parts, that politics and those instigators from the ranks of the Vučić regime in Montenegro and extended arms will not be able to gain the support of the citizens to such an extent," Božović assessed.

Commenting on the statement of the President of the Assembly, Andrije Mandić, who called the nationalist performance in Tuzi freedom, he says that it is freedom that tries to make Montenegro only one constituency for Aleksandar Vučić.

"This is what worries the region and many partners in the West, and this is what the citizens of Montenegro must stop in every next election. So of course they relativize, that's their politics, that's their values. It is about deep-rooted fascism, and what Aleksandar Radoman once said, as dean of the Faculty of Montenegrin Language and Literature, that this is not really about divisions of an ethnic nature, on the contrary, it is about ethical divisions and they are exceptionally represented in Montenegrin society. We hope that according to the ethical principle, such a policy represented by Mandić will end up in history forever", emphasized Božović.

The Belgrade regime, he says, took parts of the system under control and adds that these are the same systems that sold the mining wealth of Montenegro to Serbia below any price.

"It is about one and the same pattern, which is repeated from crisis situation to crisis situation, they, of course, finance all those paramilitary groups, hooligans and others, which try in every way to intimidate the citizens of Montenegro, to create new divisions in society and to keep Montenegro off the European road forever. The interest of both the Church of Serbia and the regime in Belgrade is for Montenegro to stop on that road, and at every stop they will try to create as big a problem as possible for Montenegro and for Montenegrin society," said Božović.

Anyone who didn't believe, adds Božović, is now convinced that after August 30, 2020, a pro-Serbian, pro-Russian, anti-European and, as he says, "Vučić gang", appeared, which is destroying all institutions.

"This is an extremely big political revenge, and Belgrade is mercilessly looking for all those who can threaten the interests of the regime of Aleksandar Vučić in Montenegro," said Božović.

This, he adds, is a policy that leads to the destruction of civil society, a policy that pushes all citizens into national camps, and at the end of it all is the distribution of the spoils.

"You have that when it comes to the conflict between the prime minister and the president, you have that when it comes to the number of ministries in the Government of Montenegro. So, a division of the spoils, a conflict only for power, and in that sense, the minority peoples, nor those parties, can count on the fact that this government or such a policy will bring anything good for their citizens in the future. I think that, after the elections in Podgorica, the parliamentary elections are also certain, and I hope that these elections will bring a completely different picture in Montenegro and that they will succeed in forming a true pro-European Government", said Božović.

Until a few weeks ago, the president of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, as Božović says, tried to show that he is impartial, a real Montenegrin president who represents the interests of Montenegrin citizens. The personal conflict, he adds, of the two former comrades will harm Montenegro in the future.

"His (Milatović's) guest appearance with Vučić, when both denied the Montenegrin language and tried to make that language exclusively Serbian, until the first lady of Montenegro went to a prayer service for the beginning of the school year. I don't think there are any political, value or ideological conflicts. It is obviously a conflict between two old friends, who, as they themselves said, returned to Montenegro to dedicate a part of their youth to the betterment of Montenegro, but apparently gave up on that as well. This is more about envying each other than disagreeing. The thing is that they are obviously quarreling over party or political spoils, over power, and essentially and in terms of value there are no big differences between them", concluded Božović.
