DPS: Resignation of Joković and criminal responsibility for all those who hid and neglected the spread of the infection

AUTHOR: M.J.
Bearing in mind that Q fever has been spreading throughout Montenegro for months, that the Government and the competent ministry were on top of the situation even though they were warned that this disease was out of control and that it would be transmitted to humans, after the confirmation of the infection in two people, we request the resignation of the minister of agriculture of Vladimir Joković, and the criminal responsibility of all those responsible in this chain of irresponsibility, the Democratic Party of Socialists of Montenegro says.
As they said, it is scandalous that the existence of Q fever was reported to the Institute for Public Health only at the end of July, even though according to the authorities "it has been known since the beginning of June, when the first tests were performed".
"It is scandalous that Montenegro received money from the EU to build a system for the destruction of dead animals according to European standards, which has not been built so far, but the corpses of diseased cattle are buried without a plan, then dug up and blown up, which further worsens the epidemic situation. It is scandalous that euthanized cows are kept "somewhere" since there is no place to safely dispose of their carcasses. It is scandalous that the public is underestimated in such a way that they are informed that only nine cows are currently infected, i.e. that the disease was confirmed in them by a PCR test, while in fact several hundred cows show signs of the disease...", the DPS stated in a statement .
DPS calls on the Prime Minister to "emerge from his pre-election campaign".
"To address the public and communicate all relevant data related to the uncontrolled spread of Q fever, including the consequences that will be borne by those who endangered people's health and decimated the livestock of Montenegro", they conclude in the announcement.
