The President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, awarded Montenegrin table tennis player Filip Radović with the Order of the Montenegrin Flag for his historic success at the Paralympic Games.
In the Residence in Cetinje, Milatović received members of the Montenegrin Paralympic team Filip Radović, Maja Rajković and Milan Đinović, who represented our country at the Paralympic Games in Paris.
The meeting was also attended by the President of the Paralympic Committee of Montenegro, Igor Tomić.
Filip Radović is the first athlete in individual competition to be honored by the President of Montenegro.
Presenting the award, President Milatović pointed out that by winning another Paralympic medal, Radović wrote a new page in the history of Montenegrin sports, and that with his extraordinary performance, he made his family, Montenegro and all of us proud, according to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office.
Milatović reminded that Filip's medal placed Montenegro among the 80 medal winners at this year's Paralympic Games, which, he said, was an exceptional success for our country.
Milatović congratulated all the athletes on the great representation of our country in Paris, pointing out that just participating in the Paralympic Games is a great success, but also an incentive for further commitment and career advancement.
- In this sense, he said that it is now up to the decision-makers to provide stronger support to athletes and improve the sports infrastructure, so that in our country they can continue training, improving and achieving top results at future competitions, according to the cabinet.
Filip Radović said that the award given to him is an honor, but also an obligation to continue achieving excellent results.
During the conversation, the athletes thanked the President for the reception and the honor shown, pointing out that they will continue to proudly defend the colors of Montenegro in the future.
The Order of the Montenegrin Flag of the third degree is awarded for special services to Montenegro, and Radović, as one of the most trophy-winning athletes in the country, has become a symbol of Montenegrin sports.
