AUTHOR: M.J.
The monuments of Paris - Notre Dame, the Louvre, the Musée d'Orsay, and the Seine River will be at the heart of the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games today, and the ceremony itself, which will be a mix of art and sport in the French capital, known as the "City of Light", is still being kept secret. .
Only about a dozen people know the details of the ceremony, which begins at 7:30 p.m. and will last almost four hours.
From 6,000 to 7,000 athletes (out of a total of 10,500), representing the participating nations, will parade in 85 boats on the Seine in the colors of their delegation, from the Osterlitz bridge to the Eiffel Tower and the Trocadéro.
About 3,000 dancers, musicians and actors will participate in the artistic part of the ceremony along the banks of the Seine, as well as on bridges, but also in the sky, on a route of six kilometers, along which 326,000 spectators are expected.
Around 200 costume designers and 300 hairdressers and make-up artists will be stationed in dressing rooms on each side of the Seine.
Around 80 giant screens will be installed along the banks of the Seine.
The show, which will be followed by more than a billion viewers, will contain, according to the association of French televisions France Televisions, video sequences recorded in advance and inserted into the story.
The artistic director of the opening ceremony, Thomas Jolly, said that he wanted to create "the biggest spectacle in the world" with a lot of joy, movement, and excitement.
Joly said that he did not want to create decor when for him the monuments in Paris are "the most beautiful scenery in the world".
The music of the ceremony includes the creations of music director Victor Le Man (Victor Le Masne). It will be a mixture of pop, symphonic orchestra, choirs and electronic music "French Touch".
As for the singer's performance, there have been rumors for months that it will be Aya Nakamura wearing Dior, the famous French high fashion house. The French media also mention the Canadian singer Celine Dion (Celine), as well as the internationally known stars Dua Lipa and Lady Gaga (Lady).
3,000 unique costumes were created for the opening ceremony.
No rehearsal of the ceremony was held outdoors in order not to reveal the secret, but the artists practiced indoors, in large hangars and other places away from the public eye.
It is also not yet known who will be the last to carry the Olympic torch to Tiljeri Park where the torch is located.
