Đukanović with Kalas: Montenegro needs a way out of the crisis through early elections
The President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, met at the beginning of the Munich Security Conference with the President of the Government of Estonia, Kaja Kalas, whom he informed about the situation in Montenegro, and said that it is necessary to get out of the crisis in extraordinary elections and establish full stability - in order to return to the full implementation of the European agenda .
He thanked for the support for the perspective of the WB's membership in the EU, appreciating that the Baltic States, starting with Estonia, are exemplary models of successfully going through the transition and achieving reforms on the way to admission to the European family, which is the only real future for this region.
His cabinet said that Đukanović, with the pleasure of meeting again, welcomed Estonia's continued interest in the situation in the ZB region, especially in the context of the war in Ukraine, and congratulated the country's unwavering stance when it comes to defending Ukrainian interests.
Prime Minister Kalas thanked for the detailed analysis of the situation at the WB, which she considers valuable, and stated that the WB does not have the necessary attention in the conditions of aggression against Ukraine.
While reminding that Estonia was the first to establish diplomatic relations with Montenegro, she thanked for the contribution of Montenegro as a member of NATO and for the good alliance, which confirms that even small countries can strongly contribute to stability. Kalas encouraged Montenegro to stay on the path of integration as a leading country, with full understanding of the challenging process of reforms that Estonia also went through, and from which the country receives benefits at the end of the process. The Prime Minister thanked Montenegro, which in the light of regional problems is firmly with European foreign policy and Ukraine - said Đukanović's cabinet.
The interlocutors expressed their expectation for the success of the upcoming NATO summit, and emphasized the importance of strengthening the eastern wing and the near completion of the admission process of Sweden and Finland.
