Đukanović passed the Decree on the dissolution of the Assembly

The President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, issued a decree on the dissolution of the Parliament of Montenegro.
As emphasized, the Decree on the dissolution of the 27th convocation of the Parliament of Montenegro enters into force on the day of its adoption, and the Decree will be published in the Official Gazette of Montenegro.
Đukanović, as pointed out by the Information Service of the President of Montenegro, issued the Decree on the basis of Article 92, Item 3 of the Constitution of Montenegro.
Đukanović previously pointed out that part of the legal team advised him that he has the legal conditions to dissolve parliament and call elections, if a new government is not elected by today.
After the dissolution of the Assembly, elections can be held in 60 days at the earliest, and in 100 days at the latest, which means that early parliamentary elections could be held at the end of May or the beginning of June.
We remind Mandator Miodrag Lekić that the deadline for forming the 44th government expires today. On Sunday, he informed the leaders of the parliamentary majority that he does not yet have the necessary majority to form a new government, as he lacks three votes from the members of the URA Citizens' Movement.
Lekić's mandate was granted after the parliament adopted amendments to the Law on the President.
The initiative to evaluate the constitutionality of that act is before the Constitutional Court.
