Šehović: Less numerous peoples will vote for Đukanović to seal the victory of civic Montenegro

Less numerous nations have shown absolute loyalty to their own state at every historical crossroads, because they have no reserves, as well as to its vital civil and national interests. That was the case in 2006, and let no one doubt that it will certainly be the same on April 2, 2023, when the masses will go to the polls and by voting for the presidential candidate Milo Đukanović, they will vote for their own future and seal the victory of civic Montenegro. , announced the president of the Social Democrats (SD), Damir Šehović, at the meeting of the OO of the Social Democrats in Rožaje.
Šehović said that there is currently a decisive struggle for a civil, multi-ethnic, multi-religious, European Montenegro on the one hand and a nationalist and clerical state on the other.
That other Montenegro, in which we unfortunately live today, is the "liberated" Montenegro that we have been looking at since August 30, in which songs are often sung in which "the Turks wail, and the Bula howl", the leaders of the Ravna Gora movement are appointed as directors educational institutions, deniers of the genocide in Srebrenica are elected as ministers and deputies, while efforts are being made to deprive the less numerous peoples who are temporarily working outside of Montenegro of their residence, and thus their voting and many other rights. This is Montenegro where, just because of their first and last name, people are expelled from the institutions of the system. That is why there is no doubt that Rožaje and Bosniaks, just like in 2006, will strongly raise their voices against such a retrograde Montenegro, which will, as always after all, strongly contribute to the victory of a civil, multinational, multi-religious society, which only as such has a chance to return to the European path from which it deviated two and a half years ago - he said.
The vice-president of the Social Democrats of Montenegro, Boris Mugoša, said that the current political situation in Montenegro causes a feeling of discomfort in almost everyone.
Civic, multi-ethnic, European and Euro-Atlantic Montenegro is on the test. I am sure that Rožaje, as always until now, will be with such a Montenegro. After all, the last two and a half years have shown everyone's true colors. Two and a half years of value stumbling, ideological and political revanchism, essential distancing from the EU. I believe that, as every time so far, the less numerous nations will make the maximum contribution to returning Montenegro to the path of European integration and strengthening the credibility of our country in the NATO alliance - said Mugoša.
The President of the Council of Social Democrats of Montenegro, Ivan Brajović, pointed out that citizens have a simple choice - between a decent and another Montenegro.
For over 30 years of being involved in politics, remaining polite and cultured has been one of my primary goals. We managed to do it in times of war, we managed to do it when we were creating this country, and when we were introducing it to NATO, and while we were bringing it into the lobby of the EU. Today's political space is so tainted and dirty that it is almost impossible to live in it. We have to fight against that and we will make that choice first on April 2, and then on June 11 - he said.
The president of OO SD Rožaje, Faruk Kalač, emphasized the importance of Rožaje at every turning point that befell Montenegro in its modern history.
We must not forget that the loudest YES came from here in 2006, and that European Montenegro always received the strongest support from here at critical moments for its destiny. If Rožaje had asked themselves, August 30, 2020 would not have looked the way it did, nor would the two and a half years that have passed behind us be the way they have been. So don't doubt that Rožajke and Rožajci will be up to the task this April 2. And after that, don't doubt that the Social Democrats of Rožaja, together with our fellow citizens, will be up to the task on June 11. We don't have any other houses besides Montenegro - concluded Kalač.
