Šehović: The situation in the Government is chaotic, elections are the cleanest solution

AUTHOR: M.J.
The situation in the Government of Montenegro is completely chaotic, we are witnessing a kind of frivolity that has not been seen in the public space of our country for a long time, the parliamentary majority in this format cannot last much longer, the elections are the cleanest, but they are not the only solution to the political crisis, SD on a political platform that in practice collapses civil principles cannot build a partnership with anyone, said the president of the Social Democrats of Montenegro, Damir Šehović, in a guest appearance on the daily of Television E.
"Thanks to the political frivolity of the parliamentary majority and the government, it is possible in Montenegro, which is not possible anywhere else in a democratic society, for a minister to threaten his prime minister with a criminal report, for the Secretary General of the Government and another minister to be unable to agree on the delivery of audio recordings from the session. that the line minister and newly elected acting of the director of the Police Administration are expressing opposing views on whether the new director passed the polygraph test or not, and that the party that also makes up the Government is calling out the Minister of Health for dismissing his director of a public institution, and accusing him of working for the pharmaceutical lobby. Therefore, it is certain that the Government in this format cannot last much longer, and the coming months will show how things will be resolved, with new reconstructions or extraordinary elections that we are advocating for," said Šehović.
When asked whether, in the event of the Democrats leaving the government, PES could count on SD and the Bosniak Party, Šehović said that before that, PES would have to announce what their policy is.
"On a political platform that implies silence at: the celebration of the day of a foreign country in Pljevlje; the burning of a doll with the image of Andrei Nikolaidis in Herceg Novi; calling a representative "Szvab" in the 21st century; and welcoming Milorad Dodik as a liberator; it is not possible to build a partnership with SD. I believe that this is also the case with the Bosniac Party, because I cannot imagine a situation in which anyone in that party, with which we have been coalition partners for years, would agree to cooperate with those who, for example, . they consider the executioners of Srebrenica heroes and not war criminals," the SD leader pointed out.
Šehović also added that the meeting with Mr. Gabriel Escobar was of high quality and content, where, among other things, concerns were shared about regional instability, the presence of Russian influence in Montenegro and the region, declining support for NATO membership, as well as surprisingly the statements of the Russian ambassador to Montenegro, Vladislav Maslenjikov, who publicly threatened the countries of the region that their membership in the European Union would mean a confrontation with Russia.
