72-hour detention for a police officer suspected of sexual acts against a thirteen-year-old girl

The acting state prosecutor of the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje ordered police officer D. L. to be detained for 72 hours due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of unauthorized sexual activity to the detriment of a child.
We remind you that an officer of the Police Department, D. L. (54), was arrested on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of illicit sexual activity against a thirteen-year-old girl.
As Vladan Đalović, the spokesman of the Bjeloplje State Prosecutor's Office, stated, the decision to detain was made after the hearing of D.L.
The criminal report stated that on January 14, the suspect D. L. committed the criminal offense of unauthorized sexual activity to the detriment of a child - stated the VDT in Bijelo Polje.
Lawyer D. L. told the Television of Montenegro that he denied committing the crime, but in the further proceedings he decided to defend himself by remaining silent.
The police arrested D. L. earlier today.
The police officers acted on the report and undertook activities within their jurisdiction in cooperation with the acting Senior State Prosecutor and arrested D.L. it was announced earlier from the Police Administration.
