Abazović is instrumentalizing parts of SDT, we are not against removing immunity

Danijel Živković, head of the Parliamentary Club of the Democratic Party of Socialists, commenting on the request of the Special State Prosecutor to remove the immunity of the members of the DPS and the Social Democrats for the purpose of conducting criminal proceedings due to the suspicion that they have committed abuse of official position, said that it is a politically motivated activity aimed at to undermine the integrity of DPS MPs.

Let us remind you that yesterday the Special State Prosecutor's Office sent a request to the Parliament of Montenegro to lift the immunity of DPS MPs Predrag Bošković, Dragica Sekulić, Suzana Pribilović, as well as SD MPs Ivan Brajović and Damir Šehović.

It is not a surprise because not much has passed since the announcement of (prime minister in technical mandate Dritan) Abazović to file a criminal report. Here, it is important to note that the parts of the Special State Prosecutor's Office have put themselves in the role of instruments of the executive power and Dritan Abazović - Živković assessed at the press conference regarding the request for the removal of immunity.

He reminded that the DPS filed dozens of criminal reports in the past month, but they did not receive a reaction from the SDT.

We did not receive any reaction from the SDT. Obviously, they dared to work in favor of Dritan Abazović. Let's warn Dritan Abazović that he is instrumentalizing parts of SDT in this way and wants to cause political damage to people from DPS - said Živković.

He also pointed out that the SDT is not reacting to the events in Šavnik.

That speaks volumes about the credibility of this institution and how much the executive power is ready to instrumentalize it - said Živković.

He added that they have no problem determining responsibility.

Just like this time, our colleagues said that they have no problem with removing their immunity, because they are aware that they did everything legally - said Živković.

He believes that this is a precedent for the prosecution to react so quickly to a criminal complaint.

We will act on principle and point out all the illegalities of those who worked illegally in the previous two years. They will not scare us, and this is also a message to Abazović that he and his associates will be held accountable - said Živković.

He repeated that no one from DPS has a problem with their immunity being removed.

We have no problem with the prosecution doing its job. I reminded that this criminal report was submitted a month ago, and that we submitted dozens of reports to which we did not receive an answer. We don't have a problem with establishing anyone's responsibility, but we have a problem when we see that someone is someone's instrument to harm political dissenters. The background of this is that someone is trying to restore political ratings. You don't have to take away our immunity, we will all give up our immunity - said Živković.

When asked how he would comment on the allegations that 60 binders and sound recordings from the commission's sessions had disappeared, he said that those who are in the government today should be asked that.

According to my belief and based on what I know of my colleagues, I believe that they respected the regulations and that they did not exceed their authority and assign something to someone who does not belong. Bosniak - said Živković.

He also asked if there had ever been such a quick action by the prosecution, and stated that this had not happened even in the case of a coup d'état.
