Airport employee fined 150 euros after female passenger boarded flight with two gas bottles

Today, the Civil Aviation Agency issued a fine of 150 euros to the passenger counter diversion control officer at Podgorica Airport - after a woman boarded an Air Serbia flight from Podgorica without any problems with two medium-sized gas cylinders.
As the Agency said, the penalty was imposed in accordance with the Air Traffic Act.
It is a human factor, but the exact cause has not yet been determined. A detailed internal analysis of the cause will be carried out and corrective measures will be taken in order to mitigate the risk of repeating the same omission - Pobjedi from the Airport of Montenegro said.
This security lapse could have had fatal consequences. Gas cylinders, as well as other dangerous items and materials, are on the list of prohibited items that you can bring onto the plane and certainly cannot pass the counter diversion screening that is carried out in the airport building before boarding the flight.
Due to the obvious omission of the airport officials, the captain of the Air Serbia plane on that flight immediately informed the police, who confiscated the gas cylinders and removed them from the plane. Immediately after the incident, the Civil Aviation Agency was also notified, whose inspector, as part of the ongoing investigation, determined who was responsible for the incident and drew up a report.
As it is a direct threat to the safety of the aircraft, crew and passengers, Air Serbia immediately filed a report against Podgorica Airport, as it is a violation of the Air Traffic Safety Act.
How big this incident is is also shown by the fact that for such a big security failure the ECAC international certificate is lost, which in this case would be disastrous for the airports of Montenegro.
To make the whole case even more scandalous, the incident happened on the day when the Prime Minister in technical mandate, Dritan Abazović, was at the Podgorica airport on the occasion of Montenegro's Airport Day. On that occasion, Abazović told the public not to fall for cheap propaganda, and that everything is working in the best order.
