Almost 70 percent of citizens would support Montenegro remaining in NATO

Almost 70 percent of Montenegrin citizens would vote that Montenegro should remain a member of NATO, according to the survey conducted among residents of NATO member states from April 1 to May 6 this year, from April 17 to 18. last May and from April 26 to May 11, 2022, RTCG writes.
Only five percent of the Montenegrin population declared that they would support the exit of our country from NATO, while 28 percent of those surveyed said they did not know.
About 46 percent of Montenegrin citizens believe that another member state should be defended if it is attacked, while 37 percent of citizens are against it.
More than 50 percent of citizens (53 percent) believe that Montenegro, as a member of NATO, has less chance of being attacked, while 32 percent of them think the opposite.
In relation to the war that Russia is waging against Ukraine, 14 percent of Montenegrin citizens somewhat disagree with the support that Montenegro provides to Ukraine, while 25 percent of citizens stated that they do not agree at all.
34 percent of citizens showed that they fully support our country's support for Ukraine, while 25 percent of respondents somewhat agree with the provision of support.
In this regard, citizens of Montenegro are in a higher percentage than, among others, citizens of France (25 percent), USA (31 percent), Germany (28 percent), Italy (19 percent), Slovakia (23 percent) Czech Republic (22 percent), Hungarians (17 percent) agree that the country should continue to provide support to Ukraine.
The survey showed that the majority of citizens (73 percent) believe that the Alliance is important for the future security of their country.
