Arrested Jelena Perović, suspected of abuse of official position

Director of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (ASK), Jelena Perović, was arrested by order of the Special State Prosecutor's Office (STP).
After searching the KAS premises, the officers of the Special Police Department took her out of that building and brought her to the SPO for questioning.
After searching the office and the official vehicle, by order of the Special State Prosecutor's Office, the officers of the Special Police Department deprived J.P., the director of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, of her freedom, due to the grounds of suspicion that she had committed a prolonged criminal offense of abuse of office - announced SDT spokesman and prosecutor Vukas Radonjić.
The police, he added, are searching her apartment and other premises in order to find other traces and objects of the criminal act.
The search of the ASK's premises began this morning around 10 o'clock.
Lawyer Nikola Martinović, who was present at the search, previously told Pobjeda that during the search, the SPO is looking for documents that have already been submitted to the Special State Prosecutor's Office, which refer to the travel orders of the head of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption and the use of official cars.
