Babaić: Warning to embassies MFA serious attack on democracy and human rights

The scandalous warning of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent to embassies that they must not help organize their citizens to come to their home country and exercise their right to vote is a serious attack on democracy and basic human rights - said Onur Babaić, a member of the Presidency of the Social Democrats of Montenegro (SD).

According to him, every effort is being made to deny the right to vote to our fellow citizens abroad.

It is obvious that the representatives of the institution, which they still call the Government, did not learn a lesson after the initial failed attempt to restrict the right to vote to our fellow citizens abroad, but they are trying to complete the work they started, very persistently and extremely perfidiously, by all means - said Babaić.

Babaić points out that such actions should not be tolerated in a civilized society.

Although the international reputation of Montenegro has been ruined, this kind of insistence should not be tolerated in a civilized society - said Babaić.

He said that the Montenegrin diaspora will express its attitude towards such an incorrect relationship in the elections on Sunday.

As it is certain that even this dishonorable plan will not succeed, we are sure that our emigrants will know on Sunday that they value this kind of unfair treatment that the Montenegrin authorities continuously serve them - concluded Babaić.
