Bastijančić: To give recognition to the Croats for the successful presentation of tradition

Advisor to the President of Montenegro for the constitutional system and legal issues, Boris Bastijančić, as a representative of President Milo Đukanović, spoke at the ceremony held on the occasion of the Day of the Croatian People in Montenegro, according to the press release of the Information Cabinet of the President of Montenegro. Bastijančić said that the ceremony is a suitable opportunity to give true recognition to Croats in Montenegro for the successful and long-lasting presentation of their famous tradition.
As the press release points out, Bastijančić, on behalf of President Đukanović, congratulated the Day of the Croatian People in Montenegro - all Croats in Montenegro "which is celebrated in memory of January 13, 809, when the relics of St. Tripun were transferred from Constantinople to Kotor, emphasizing that the significance, meaning, importance and value of this date is best witnessed by the respectable audience, both in terms of composition and number, that attends the ceremony".
"This is an opportune opportunity to give true recognition to the Croats in Montenegro for the successful long-term presentation of their famous tradition and expert nurturing of a unique cultural and historical treasure beyond the borders of their motherland, which at the same time contribute to increasing and legitimizing the richness of the demographic stratification and cultural diversity of the state of Montenegro ", pointed out Bastijančić.

When it comes to the relations between the two countries, the announcement states, their level, quality and mutual understanding are undoubtedly substantive, partnership-like and intense, and it is reasonable to expect their movement towards further improvement.
In support of such a statement, emphasized the envoy of the President of Montenegro, the numerous and frequent meetings of the highest state officials speak for it, especially referring to the recently held ceremony in Zagreb on the occasion of 30 years of work of the National Community of Montenegrins of Croatia and the five-year implementation of the recognizable project "Roads of the Bokel Croatians, whose the patrons are the presidents of Montenegro and the Republic of Croatia.
"For us to remember, now and here, Anton Gustavo Matoš and his wise words and admonitions, nations can achieve everything, not just the name, if they lose it. Neither will the Montenegrin Croats in Montenegro lose it, nor will the Croatian Montenegrins lose it in the Republic of Croatia, as long as there are us, and there will be and must be even more of us, unwaveringly staring at the horizon of imperishable European heritage", concluded Bastijančić.

At the ceremony, which was held in the Sports Center "Župa" in Tivat, in the presence of numerous dignitaries from the public, social and cultural life of the two countries, the Ambassador to Montenegro Veselko Grubišić spoke as the representative of the President of the Republic of Croatia Zoran Milanović, while the representative of the President Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman addressed the representatives of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenković.
As a special guest, Zlatko Dalić, the trophy selector of the football team of the Republic of Croatia, also had a welcome speech, the announcement concludes.
