Border police harassed an Albanian family; DUA: To urgently clarify the situation

Albanian media published a video from the Sukobin-Murićani border crossing, which shows Montenegrin police officers mistreating an Albanian family that was traveling to Montenegro by private car.

The video clip was also sent by the Democratic Union of Albanians, which called on the competent authorities as well as Prime Minister Dritan Abazović to take appropriate measures to shed light on the situation of the use of force by the police against unidentified persons and to urgently clarify this situation.

They demand that appropriate measures be taken against the police officer, in accordance with the laws, and that he be sanctioned in order to send a message of the unacceptability of such behavior.

As you can clearly see in the video, we are particularly concerned that the police officer has given himself the right to mistreat an Albanian citizen in this way, who does not offer any resistance or do anything illegal - they say in the announcement.

The police administration made an announcement on this occasion last night and announced that measures and actions aimed at establishing all the circumstances related to this case are underway.

Officials of the Border Police Sector and the Regional Center of the Border Police South have already taken initial, and are still taking, official measures and actions with the aim of establishing the factual situation and all the circumstances related to the actions of police officers of the border police of Montenegro towards the citizens of the Republic of Albania, based on which possibly, other activities will be undertaken in accordance with the positive legal regulations of Montenegro - it is stated in the announcement of the Police Administration.

They add that the public will be informed in a timely manner of the results of the actions taken.
