Boycott classes if the heating problem is not solved

In Kolašina elementary, secondary, music school, as well as in kindergarten - there is no heating since yesterday. Although classes are shortened, parents announce a boycott of classes if they do not get heating soon. However, Kolašin is not the only one with this problem. The students of the Pljeval grammar school attended classes online today. According to the Ministry of Education, the problem is in public procurement.
It's three to four degrees Celsius outside, and in the classroom the subjective feeling that it's even colder. In such conditions, students from Kolasin attend classes because there is no heating.
"These two days were very well-dressed, a number of children did not even come to school, their parents did not agree to send them, and most parents announced that they would not send their children to school at all, that they would boycott classes," said the president of the Parents' Council, Milena Vlahovic.
On the second day, classes were shortened to half an hour so that the children could spend as little time as possible in the cold classrooms. The rain that falls incessantly does not help them either.
"We just get wet when entering the school and sit in cold rooms like that. Somehow the situation is difficult, it's really difficult," said Nataša Peković, director of the elementary school "Risto Manojlović", and pointed out that they advise students not to take off their jackets.
But Kolašin is not the only one struggling with heating. The Ministry of Education says that a certain number of schools have contacted them saying that their energy supplies have run out, while others are at a low level. They did not specify the number of schools. They state that the problem is in public procurement. The heating of educational institutions was a topic in the Assembly today.
"After the session, I will communicate with the relevant minister of education and the director of the administration to inform him that there is an urgent need to resolve matters," said Finance Minister Aleksandar Damjanović.
Parents in Kolašin are losing patience, announcing a boycott of classes if their children are not warm soon.
"I hope that the problem will be solved. I am least inclined to interrupt classes, the worst is that interruption of classes," said Peković.
"Those who need to solve the problem in the ministry should still imagine that they send their children in the snow, sleet is predicted today and there will be colder days. Let them imagine that they send their children to school, let them go from there," said Vlahović-
That is why they say that they will not sit idly by and will organize a parents' protest in front of the school tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. before the start of classes, in order to say that their children have the right to normal conditions for education.
All schools in Montenegro have problems with heating, which are running out of supplies of fuel oil, which is used for heating. When new quantities of this energy source will be procured is currently uncertain, while the first snow has already whitened the north of Montenegro.
