Cetinje: Travel Europe, don't wait for us anymore

POBJEDA
The occasion of the citizens of Cetinje for a public message to the citizens of Croatia with a performance, on the eve of Independence Day, is the submission of the proposed resolution on the genocide in Jasenovac to the parliamentary procedure. The majority of representatives of the ruling parties, led by the Speaker of the Parliament Andrija Mandić, collected 43 signatures and submitted it for adoption. In Montenegro, the proposed resolution was condemned by the opposition, some NGOs and intellectuals.

They reminded the people of Cetinje of their historic moral message from 1991 "From Lovćen vila, we cry, forgive us, Dubrovnik", created at anti-war rallies in Cetinje, and said that "Cetinje washes the face of Montenegrins, both then in 1991 and today in 2024".

Croatia immediately, at the beginning of the initiative in the Montenegrin parliament, presented its disagreement to the Montenegrin authorities. This was followed by a protest note from the Croatian Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs stating "the inappropriateness of the manipulation of the victims of Jasenovac for political purposes, the instrumentalization of Croatia for internal politics and calls on Montenegro to refrain from anything that could jeopardize their path towards the EU".
