Citizens' protest in front of SDT: Katnić victim of those accused of "coup d'état" who want revenge and persecution

In front of the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT) in Podgorica, a protest was held by a group of citizens who demand that former chief special state prosecutor Milivoj Katnić be allowed to defend himself from freedom, after he was arrested last week along with former high-ranking police official Zoran Lazović on suspicion of abusing position in the "Belivuk case", i.e. when the ban on entry into Montenegro was lifted for the then head of the criminal organization from Belgrade Veljko Belivuk and his companion Marko Miljković.
After he was arrested on April 14, Katnić refused to hire a lawyer, and after he was taken to the pre-trial detention center in Spuz, he decided to go on a hunger strike. He had a lung embolism twenty days ago and his life is in danger.
The gathered citizens spilled red liquid symbolizing Montenegrin blood in front of SDT, on a sign that says "Are you still thirsty?".
A citizen at the rally, Svetlana Pajović-Musić, said that as activists, they are aware of the situation we are in and the constant persecution, and have decided to react and influence awareness and ethics.
Today, Katnić is a victim of those accused of a "coup d'état" who want revenge and persecution. How can we trust SDT, which rejected dozens of documents? Among them is the case of Jelena Borovinić Bojović, due to the death of several elderly people in Bijelo Polje. How to trust the SDT, which rejected the audio and recordings against Petar Knežević. There is also the rigging of tenders in the coal mine, as well as Vesna Bratić, who caused damage to the state with illegal dismissals, and whom the court cannot find to appear at the hearings - stated Pajović Music.
She added that the court cannot even find Vijesti journalist Jelena Jovanović, who drew targets for Montenegrin journalists and activists, declaring them extremists.
Citizens' billboards read "Resist fascism", "Bia rose, Bia sue us", "The fascism of the August avengers must be prosecuted", "The prosecutor for the coup d'état is being tried by 'Russian' agents", "Novović, do you have the head for a 'Russian safari' '?" and "Justice is not a front! 'Snipers of the Russian-Serbian world choose their victims'".
The representative of the Democratic Party of Socialists, Oskar Huter, who attended the protest, told Pobjeda that he came because he appreciates the protest of citizens who want to resist selective justice, which, according to him, is present every day in all the events witnessed in the past days.
Chief special prosecutor (Vladimir) Novović also defends himself here, because tomorrow he too may find himself in the same situation as Katnić. It is not important to judge people here, but to give them the opportunity to defend themselves. We witnessed the conviction before the man was taken into custody, the verdict was announced and everything that is happening shows that the special prosecutor who is doing what he is doing today is double-edged - Hutter points out.
Of course, as he adds, this can change.
Montenegrins should not be silent. Is anyone thirsty for Montenegrin blood? Do Montenegrins have the right to defend themselves and to defend themselves as befits a man - asked Huter.
One of those gathered said that the selective justice carried out by them is a disgrace and a shame, judging that this is "the persecution of Montenegrins".
The Montenegrin Helsinki Committee for Human Rights and a group of citizens sent an open letter to the chief special prosecutor, Vladimir Novović, and to all those involved in the treatment of Katnić, in which they emphasize that the arrest and detention of Katnić was "followed by an unprecedented, orchestrated, political and media manhunt and slander, which in the rudest way destroy not only the presumption of innocence, but also seriously raise doubts about the regularity and legality of the entire procedure".
Noting that Katnić's health is seriously impaired, and his decision to go on a hunger strike poses a huge risk to his life, CHO and a group of civil activists demand that Katnić's death in the Remand Prison not be allowed, but that he be allowed to be released from prison with full medical and other necessary protection.
In a letter to Radan from the Administration for the Execution of Criminal Sanctions, which Pobjeda published last week, Katnić stated that his son knows that he did not become a member of any criminal organization, but that, as he pointed out, this was a conspiracy of this fascist clique that came to power , and uses the agreement (professional and moral) of the prosecutor's office and the court to portray him as a criminal through skillful manipulation of facts, filled with lies.
