Citizens stood up to defend the Constitution and the state

On the plateau in front of the Parliament of Montenegro, the protest over the adoption of amendments to the Law on the President ended. The gathered citizens, thousands of them from all over the country, demanded to prevent "the overthrow of the constitutional order and the withdrawal of the Law on the President". They also announced that they demand the holding of extraordinary parliamentary elections, and demand the election of judges of the Constitutional Court of Montenegro.
The demands of the citizens were read at the beginning of the protest by Nebojša Mrvaljević, executive director of the forum of free citizens "Luča", whose organization the protest is being held.
"We demand that the overthrow of the constitutional order of Montenegro be prevented and that the amendments to the Law on the President be withdrawn. We demand an agreement on the judges of the Constitutional Court in order to ensure the conditions for holding the elections", said Mrvaljević.
The representative of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Danijel Živković said "we have no more time for clarifications and explanations".
"In two years, they led the country to the altar of betrayal and sale. Now they dared to strike at the backbone of the state, at the Constitution, to strike at our ancestors and at our mother Montenegro, who fed them. They struck thinking that we did not have the courage to answer them . And from this place I tell them that they underestimated us. They underestimated the staunch, freedom-loving Montenegro, believing that everything is over. Not that it's not over, it's just begun. They will hear us today, and tomorrow, and every day, in every place ", Zivkovic said.
"There is no more washed-up rhetoric, there is no more decency with the destroyers. They hit the face and dignity, and when dignity is defended in Montenegro, you know what that means. That is why I saw fear in their eyes. Because they know that there is nothing greater sacred from the defense of the country that was created for centuries. I am here with you tonight so that tomorrow I could raise my head on the mound of my late grandfather who bled for the borders of this country, and that tomorrow I could look my son in the eyes knowing that with my generation I gave everything that I have for the defense, progress and development of Montenegro. That is why, from tonight, we are no longer fighting only to preserve the institutions, defend the Constitution, the legal order, but to teach in the books about us how we worthily stood up for the values of civic and European Montenegro. and we are fighting so that someone doesn't write us down at the bottom of the page as accompanying and pale populace that just stood there silently while the constitutional order was collapsing and while Montenegro was collapsing. We will not stand silently, this is a bulwark over which they will no longer pass" - he said Zivkovic.
This is why, as he says, they must be persistent.
"We must be united, united and persevere together to achieve our demands. Montenegro needs elections! We must restore order, we must restore institutional strength, we must return to the European path and we must make Montenegro a decent home for everyone who wants to live there, learns, starts a family and binds his personal destiny. This is a fight for the right to a decent life, this is a fight for future generations, this is a fight in which we must not back down. Let's go to the elections, so that the citizens can give their verdict and after the elections we will return the Black Let's go on the European path, to defend our civil order and restore strength to the institutions, because only in this way will Montenegro be eternal. Let them know - we have only just begun and we will not stop until these goals are achieved. May Montenegro be eternal," said Živković.
Civic activist Svetlana Pajović said that it is the basic obligation of every citizen of Montenegro to come out and oppose the occupying government and the parliamentary majority that trampled on their own Constitution.
"The assembly has lost its legitimacy! The government exercises tyranny, there are no more laws, there are no institutions! Any silence and non-resistance in such a historical moment is giving legitimacy to those who are dedicatedly working to destroy the Montenegrin state, economy, health, economy, and the destruction of all national and state interest," she pointed out.
He notes that the Constitution of a secular state is its holy book.
"That's why I'm turning to the destroyers with these questions: You smoked us with tear gas, so you won't baptize us with Kalashnikovs? Two years of violence, persecution, insults, threats, hate speech... So let's tell you from this place! Do you know what bullies are like and how was tyranny going on in Montenegro?! You didn't bear any legal or political consequences for your misdeeds, but until today. You could do what you want, but you won't do it for as long as you want," Pajović emphasized.
As of tonight, as he points out, there are two paths - the path of honor and freedom and the path of shame and betrayal.
"And tonight we are writing new pages in the Montenegrin history of the struggle for law, justice, honor and freedom, creating right now together a new discipline of our time. Tonight we are also telling the international community that we are tailors of our own destiny and that we will not allow them to make our country meaningless and that we are diverted from the European path by Russian and Serbian agents and mercenaries, from the Church of Serbia to those who sit in the Government and the Assembly," Pajović stated.
He says that the sons and daughters of Montenegro will not allow anyone to be a currency for bribery in the region at the price of anything.
"That's why I ask you: Are we going to forget the Belvedere? Are we going to forget July 13 in Nikšić? Are we going to forget the sale of our graves to the Church of Serbia? in the words of one of the most loyal Montenegrin sons, we are sending a message: "I have burned out my candle, I cannot and will not surrender." Montenegro has no surrender - together, there is us," Pajović concluded.
The spokesperson of the Social Democrats (SD) Nikola Zirojević said that tonight they are at a rally to defend the Constitution.
"We will not allow institutions to be trampled on and the state to be further humiliated. Our opponents have succeeded in their plan to bring us to the street. Let them know that we are next to the street. These are the people who went through the Belvedere, Bogetiće, July 13 in Nikšić, all the adversities in the last two years. There is not an iota of fear here, because we are on the right side. We are not afraid of Dritan's tear gas and rubber bullets. We are not afraid of his shouting either," said Zirojević.
He adds that "we are not afraid of Dritan's tear gas and rubber bullets, we are not afraid of his shouting, yelling and threats, because if we were afraid of such, this country would not exist, and we would be someone's servants, just like Dritan Abazović is today ".
He also commented on the call for an agreement regarding the judges of the Constitutional Court.
"There is no sitting at the same table with the destroyers of the Constitution until they give up their plan. The President of Montenegro is not a first and last name, the President of Montenegro is a state institution - we must not allow the function of the first man of the state to be degraded in this way, not because of the current president , but also because of him, but also for the sake of everyone who follows. We are protecting the Constitution today, in order to preserve this country tomorrow - that's why we will not give up this fight. Withdrawal of the law on the president, the election of agreed judges of the Constitutional Court and the calling of extraordinary parliamentary elections," he said. Zirojevic.
Social Democratic Party (SDP) MP Adnan Striković said that the idea of a libertarian, multi-ethnic, multi-religious and civil Montenegro brought them together tonight.
"The law and the Constitution of this country must be sacred to everyone," Striković said.
Jelena Marković from the Liberal Party (LP) said that trampling on the Constitution is not the European way.
"All of us who have gathered here tonight are defenders of the constitution," said Marković.
She said "that the traitors want to adapt the Constitution to themselves and the interests of other states".
"Montenegro is not Aleksandar Vučić's country and it never will be," said Marković.
The President of the Municipality of Savnik Jugoslav Jakić said that his heart is full because they are fighting together for Montenegro.
"We have no more sacred task than to defend Montenegro," said Jakić.
Montenegrin volleyball national team member Tanja Bokan said that she had no dilemma when she received the organizer's invitation to speak at tonight's gathering. He says that he is always there where the interests of Montenegro are defended.
"Both on the sports field and at protests and wherever necessary, our mother. This is a protest of all citizens, regardless of differences, who defend institutions and state dignity," said Bokan.
political analyst Danilo Kalezić also welcomed the buyers, who said that it was quite quietly observed that the political servants of Aleksandar Vučić were systematically destroying what was created by Montenegrin ancestors.
" He who does not listen to the song will listen to the storm, said the poet. We have "sung" enough. We have watched enough - without the Belvedere - almost silently as the cheap political service of Aleksandar Vučić systematically destroys everything created by our ancestors - our grandfathers and great-grandfathers. Less with a pen , more with "bright weapons" and "with a hero's heart". It was only the generation of our fathers, thanks to the politics of these parties whose representatives you have heard and of which we will no longer be ashamed, that on May 21, 2006, with a pen/pen, they were given the opportunity to return what in 1918, our country was stolen from us! The same people who robbed and humiliated Montenegro in 1918, counting on the followers and descendants of those who betrayed them once, today are trying to repeat the crime. Let me tell them right away: your calculation is bad. You will not see that film to watch. Enough of trampling the Montenegrin flag, the symbol of our country and our freedom, the Montenegrin name. Never again in 1918." - said Kalezić.
As he said, the path we are taking is one - European and Western.
"I graduated from the best schools there and I know very well where my country belongs - in a civilization where man, law and freedom are respected, not in a dark province where force, lawlessness and crime reign. Our goal is the EU, not Russia -Serbian governorate "- said Kalezić.
He also addressed the Prime Minister of Montenegro, as well as the Minister of Internal Affairs.
"For Dritan Abazović and his strongman, a man from Cetinje who does not even deserve to be mentioned - but, like all traitors, history will mention him - neither our warnings nor those of our Western friends were enough. Rented from Aleksandar Vučić, whose war policy threatens to rekindled the Balkans, Abazović and the URA of Montenegro continue to do what the grandson of King Nikola did in 1918. In this fatal plan, Abazović and the URA are accompanied by a duo controlled by a Russian agency based in the Church of Serbia. They were ready to sacrifice their lives 10 Montenegrins for one pop. You won't, Dritan, you won't Spajić and Milatović. You won't trample and humiliate Montenegro and Montenegrins anymore. You won't, while there is Lovcen and Durmitor, while there is sunshine and while there is Grahovac. You didn't want a song, now watch the storm, because - there are us" - said Kalezić.
Student Ilija Vujačić wished "European Montenegro and European Podgorica" a good evening.
"Good evening, Montenegrins, friends, brothers, because my brother was of any religion. Spread with the flame of freedom tonight the dark clouds that hang over our only home, Montenegro. May the dawn of September and May dawn again, right now in November as it dawned on 13 .July 1878, 1941, and May 21, 2006. They are tearing down your Constitution, my country, digging up the foundations, changing history, and they do not know that the foundations of your statehood are as solid as Lovćen, and its borders, covered in blood, and that we will not let them go just like that "- said Vujacic.
Citizens carried the flags of Montenegro, the United States of America, Ukraine and the European Union.
Those gathered carried banners that read "Stop spreading hatred", "We are there, we will not give the Constitution, we want elections", "We are there for Montenegro!" For the EU!", "We have no more choices - Let's go to the elections!", "We will not give you Montenegro".
The protest is attended, among others, by representatives of the Democratic Party of Socialists, SDP, LP and Social Democrats.
The president of the country, Milo Đukanović, also supported the protest.
"Support for the protest rally whose goal is to restore credibility and legitimacy to the institutions and protect Montenegro," Đukanović said earlier.
