Damaged stairway to the Temple of the Virgin

The staircase in the protected complex of the Temple of the Virgin in Prčanje was damaged during the night. Locals informed the priest of Prčany about the vandalism in the morning, and he informed the authorities, who carried out an investigation, the Boka News portal reports.
This morning, the locals of Prčanje organized themselves on their own initiative and took the first steps to temporarily stabilize the staircase, to prevent it from collapsing further.
The parish priest Don Željko Pasković told Boka news that he reported the case to the Ministry of Interior, the Municipal Inspection, and it will also be reported to the Administration for the Protection of Cultural Monuments, because the staircase is a cultural monument of the first category of Montenegro.
He reminds that three years ago the balustrades in the lower part of the staircase were also destroyed.
I invite the culprit to report to the police, and if he doesn't want to do that, let him repent, because this is the church staircase of one of the largest sanctuaries in this part of the Adriatic - Don Pasković said.
The Church of the Birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary - a protected cultural monument, the construction of which began in 1789 and was completed in 1913, cries out for rehabilitation and protection, the staircase is prone to landslides, which can be seen at first glance by the depressions on the treads and the separated joints on the consoles.
