The president of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Milo Đukanović, will be the party's presidential candidate in the upcoming presidential elections, according to the decision of the Main Board of the DPS.
Previously, the party's Presidency proposed Đukanović as a candidate at the session, which was unanimously adopted subsequently at the session of the Main Board of the DPS.
Đukanović has been in the position of President of Montenegro since 2018. He was prime minister from 2008 to 2010 and from 2012 to 2016.
The presidential elections are scheduled for March 19, and the deadline for submitting candidacies expires on Sunday, February 26.
The state election commission has so far accepted the candidacy of Democratic Front (DF) leader Andrije Mandić and Social Democratic Party (SDP) official Draginja Vuksanović Stanković.
