DPS Pljevlja: By celebrating the Day of Serbian Statehood, the local government denies Montenegrin independence

AUTHOR: M.J.
The announcement that the Municipality of Pljevlja will organize a Ceremonial Academy on February 14 on the occasion of the Statehood Day and Constitution Day of the Republic of Serbia is another in a series of shameless attempts to deny Montenegrin independence and attack the foundation of its statehood - the Municipal Committee of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) said in that city.
They point out that by celebrating 220 years of the First Serbian Uprising and 189 years since the promulgation of the Sretenj Constitution, the President of the Municipality of Pljevlja Dario Vraneš, by carrying out the works of disastrous agendas that led to conflicts in the territory of the former Yugoslavia, is once again grossly deepening the divisions and creating a growing distance between the citizens of our town.
Let's remind you that on September 28 last year, the majority in the local parliament adopted a decision to change the Municipal Statute, thereby enabling the change of the Municipal Day, instead of the previous November 20, the day the city was liberated from fascism, as the Municipal Day, the church holiday, October 27, the day of Holy Friday, was set as the Municipal Day. Now, with the celebration of foreign holidays, the local government, with the policy of aggressive Greater Serbian nationalism, is only continuing the further clericalization of the Pljeval environment and Montenegrin society, to which the coalition partners, trapped by rotten compromises, are shamefully silent - underlined the DPS.
They believe that the message is being sent to us in the most graphic way that the leaders of the Municipality of Pljevlja, led by Dario Vraneš, DF, as the party to which it belongs, which is also the main constituent of the government both at the local level in Pljevlja and at the national level, do not respect or adhere to legal order and the Constitution of Montenegro, and therefore not to the independence and sovereignty of our country.
