Education union: The Ministry alludes to organizing a strike, we perceive the letter as a form of intimidation

AUTHOR: M.J.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation has just received a notice to school principals, in which it alludes that the Education Union of Montenegro (SPCG) is allegedly organizing a strike tomorrow, 27.12.2023. year, it was announced from that organization.
We perceive this letter as a form of intimidation and instilling nervousness among educational workers, all with the possible goal that tomorrow, in front of the Parliament of Montenegro, there will be as few educational workers as possible in the public class, and to show that SPCG violates the law and does not have the support of employees. We hereby strongly condemn any form of intimidation and dissemination of incorrect information by anyone, including the relevant Ministry - stated in the announcement of SPCG signed by President Radomir Božović.
They point out that "they are particularly surprised by the reference to the invalid minimum of the work process, while the relevant Ministry has been refusing to adopt a new one for eight years, which was mandatory according to the Law on Strikes".
Also, we wonder if this is a valid document that was sent to schools without any stamp or signature? We cannot believe that it occurred to someone to return Montenegro to the period of dictatorship and total repression, where the voice of the educator cannot be heard, even when he is forced to protect his elementary rights. This is not about a strike, but about a one-day absence from classes for all employees who voluntarily want it, which is in accordance with Article 10 paragraph 1 indent 6 of the Branch Collective Agreement - said the Union.
They note that the public lesson they are holding tomorrow in front of the Assembly sends a message to students, parents, educators and citizens that we must fight for law, justice and dignity with all our being whenever necessary.
This public class represents one of the most important life lessons that our students and the whole society can learn. Dear colleagues and fellow educators, we must be united in defending our rights. Let's not allow unsigned and unrecorded letters to cause us unrest and waver in the defense of our Branch collective agreement and our dignity - conclude from the Education Union.
