The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Slovenia, Tanja Fajon, is coming to Podgorica again on Sunday, it was confirmed to Portal RTCG from the Government of Montenegro. Fajon will meet with the most prominent state officials.
The topic will be the current political situation in the country with special reference to the election of judges of the Constitutional Court.
We remind you that at the end of December 2022, Fajon stayed in Montenegro with the Federal Minister for European and International Affairs of Austria, Aleksander Shallenberg.
Under the mandate of the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Jozep Borelj, they visited Montenegro and, among other things, pointed out that "it is recommended that Montenegro not act according to the amended Law on the President until a Constitutional Court is formed that will assess its constitutionality ". They also stated that if a government was elected based on the disputed law, they would not have any communication with it, and threatened a possible termination of the accession negotiations with Montenegro.
