FCJK: Prominent intellectual Milenko A. Perović passed away

Professor Milenko A. Perović died last night in Novi Sad at the age of 73, after a short and serious illness, said the Faculty of Montenegrin Language and Literature (FCJK).
It is with deep regret that we inform the public of the death of Milenko A. Perović, a prominent intellectual, president of the Montenegrin PEN Center, president of the Board of the Faculty of Montenegrin Language and Literature, regular member of the Dukljan Academy of Sciences and Arts - this higher education institution announced.
Milenko A. Perović, as stated by FCJK, was born in Vrbas in 1950, in a Montenegrin colonist family. He graduated from philosophy studies in Belgrade in 1974. He defended his doctoral dissertation in philosophy entitled Value system and moral consciousness of the petty bourgeoisie - under the mentorship of Milan Kangrga - at the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb in 1984.
From 1987, he worked as a professor of philosophical subjects at the Department of Philosophy at the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad. He founded the Study Group for Philosophy and the Department, and then the Department of Philosophy at the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad in 1988. He founded master's and doctoral studies in philosophy at the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad. He is the co-founder of the philosophical magazine Arhe, which has been published at the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad since 2004. He is the co-founder of the Bioethical Society of Serbia (2008) - FCJK said.
He devoted most of his books and works to the issues of the history of philosophy, ethics and practical philosophy. Hegel's and Aristotle's philosophy are his constant philosophical preoccupation.
He published about one hundred and fifty philosophical articles, over seven hundred columnist articles and 23 books. He was the president of the Commission for the Standardization of the Montenegrin Language, which in 2009–2010 published the Montenegrin Spelling and the Montenegrin Grammar. He is one of the founders of the Institute for Montenegrin Language and Literature in Podgorica and the Faculty of Montenegrin Language and Literature in Cetinje. He is a regular member of the Dukljan Academy of Sciences and Arts. He has been at the head of the Montenegrin PEN Center since 2020 - FCJK pointed out.
The commemoration on the occasion of the death of Milenko A. Perović, as announced, will be held at the Faculty of Montenegrin Language and Literature on December 28 at 11 a.m.
