Felten: The visit to Berbok is not accidental, these are decisive months for Montenegro and its path to the EU

AUTHOR: M.J.
Today's visit by the German Minister Analena Berbok was very successful, and the timing of the visit was not accidental, because these are decisive months for Montenegro and its path to the EU - pointed out German Ambassador Peter Felten, adding that messages of support and encouragement were sent.
This is a visit in which it was emphasized that we recognize and acknowledge the success you have achieved, new moments for Montenegrin politics with messages of encouragement and support. Also expectations, that now all political forces in Montenegro understand that they should unite, in order to take the necessary steps to achieve the next steps towards the EU. We clearly sent a message of support, not only political, but also concrete, to be of help in a concrete sense. We want common European security protocols to be followed. This was emphasized during the visit of our minister - said Felten.
A few weeks ago, as he points out, German officials announced Prime Minister Milojko Spajić's visit to Berlin, and this shows that they have moved from aspirations to talking about concrete things in order for Montenegro to join the European Union as soon as possible.
At every meeting today, the geostrategic threat posed by Russia, which also applies to the Western Balkans, was pointed out. This war of aggression can come in the form of political and diplomatic threats, in the form of disinformation, false narratives, through the instrumentalization of politicians, social groups, and the country must be ready for these threats. If you are the leader, that is, you run faster than your neighbors, it can be expected that some may be jealous and envious, so you must be ready to deal with it and stay on course and run towards the goal - said Felten.
