Groceries in Germany are twice as cheap as in Montenegro

Almost all foodstuffs in Germany are either at the level of our prices, or much cheaper, which can be seen in the photos sent to the RTCG Portal by one of our citizens who lives and works in that country.
He noticed it this summer when he was on vacation in Montenegro, and promised to document it as soon as he returned to Germany, which he did yesterday.
I have been coming to my country for vacation for years. I have property there. I left a long time ago, and I'm always surprised when I come back here and see the prices, and I know what the salaries and pensions are like. But what I saw this summer has nothing to do with the inflation that they are talking about in Montenegro that has affected Europe - said the interlocutor of Portal RTCG.
In the photos he sent, it can be seen that the price of eggs in a package of ten pieces is 1.55 euros, while in our country it is 2.25 euros.
Beef 9.99 euros, and chicken drumsticks 2.59 per kilogram.
Olives in a large jar can be bought for 1.69 euros in Germany, while they are hard to find here for less than three euros. Cucumbers in a large jar are also cheaper, and their price is 1.29 euros.
In the middle of Germany, you can also buy Bosnian kebabs, frozen, and they are 10 euros per kilogram, while bananas are at the same level as here or even cheaper and cost 1.19 euros. Oil and flour are cheaper - he says.
He says that there are also stores where you can find food products from the area of the former SFRY.
What is amazing is that these products are cheaper here than there. What is the logic of 'Grandmother's Secret' ajvar being almost eight euros in Montenegro, and 5.5 euros in Germany. Is there an economist who can explain it to me - he says.
He says that it is known that beer in Germany is treated as a food product, but it is simply unbelievable that it is much cheaper than here, and the best beers.
You have beers from 49 cents to 99 cents for a large can, and they are all top quality. But, take, for example, a well-known and very high-quality German beer that is sold in our retail chains for 1.39 in one, or 1.49 in another. The same beer in Germany costs 1.09 cents, which means it is 30 to 40 cents cheaper than in Montenegro - he points out.
He explains that the photo he sent shows offers and prices, but notes that the price of the beer is reduced if you return the tin.
For the empty can you returned, the price of the drink is reduced by 25 cents. It is the same with bottled water. If you return the PVC packaging, the water will cost you practically free - he added.
True, as he says, there are many retail chains in the European Union, so there are also those that are more expensive, but that's why cheaper retail chains are always available to ordinary citizens, with the same items as in the most expensive ones.
