Injac withdrew the proposal to amend the Decision on the establishment of RTV Podgorica

The Mayor of Podgorica, Olivera Injac, withdrew the proposal to amend the Decision on the establishment of the local broadcaster RTV Podgorica.
The decision was submitted to the Assembly of the Capital City.
For the sake of further consultations with the representatives of the media community, and respecting the principles of transparency in work, I am withdrawing from the parliamentary procedure the Proposal for a Decision on Amending the Decision on the Establishment of the Public Broadcaster RTV Podgorica - stated Injac.
We remind you that, on the initiative of Injac, the Assembly of the capital was supposed to urgently consider the amendment of the Decision on the establishment of the local broadcaster RTV Podgorica (Gradska TV). It was foreseen that the executive director of that media company would be elected by the municipal parliament - in the case of "a small number of the Council or a lack of quorum for the work of that body".
The administration of the Capital City announced the case with a statement:
Respecting the suggestions of the media community, as a key partner in the realization of the public interest, the capital has decided to withdraw the proposal to amend the Decision on the establishment of the local public broadcaster RTV Podgorica, which also manages Gradska TV - the announcement reads.
As they state, the new city administration in Podgorica, which is the founder and from whose budget the local public broadcaster RTV Podgorica is financed, expresses dissatisfaction with work, unprofessional reporting and non-transparent operations. This, as they point out from the Capital City, is confirmed by the reports of competent independent bodies such as the Agency for Electronic Media.
It is our obligation to provide the citizens of Podgorica with the conditions for timely and objective information, but it is of essential importance that this be achieved in a procedure that includes European practices, and therefore we invite all the interested public, especially the media, to help us with their suggestions to make RTV Podgorica a representative media. which will serve the interests of all citizens of Podgorica - the announcement concludes.
