Joelle Gario-Majlam is the new president Parliamentary Assembly of NATO

Joelle Gario-Majlam from France was elected today as the president of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, the Montenegrin parliament announced.
At the plenary session in Madrid, according to reports, the Secretary General and Chairman of the North Atlantic Council, Jans Stoltenberg, spoke, and the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, via video.
It was announced that the participants of the meeting were addressed by the Vice-President of the Government of Ukraine, Olha Stefanišina, as the winner of the "Woman of the Year for Peace and Security" award.
"In the continuation of the session, the officers of the PS NATO were elected, the treasurer of this institution, Wolfgang Helmič, was presented, and the draft budget for 2023 was adopted," the announcement says.
The session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Madrid gathered more than 50 national parliamentary delegations, representatives of member countries, associated countries, regional partner and Mediterranean associated countries and observers, as well as guests from the host country and abroad.
"During the session, the most significant part of the discussions was focused on current topics in the field of international security and other close issues. Proposals from the committee's report, which were discussed during the Spring session, were adopted, and in this context political recommendations were formulated," it is said in announcement.
The work of the 68th annual session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly was attended by the permanent Delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro, which included Danilo Šaranović, Vladan Raičević and Ivan Brajović.
