Katnić is on hunger strike again

AUTHOR: M.J.
Detained former chief special prosecutor Milovoje Katnić went on hunger strike again from July 14, in protest against, according to him, the illegal decision of the Supreme Court of Montenegro, which privatized the proposal of special prosecutor Miloš Šoškić to extend custody for an additional three months, Television E has learned.
With the same decision, the Council of the Supreme Court chaired by Vesna Vučković extended the detention, except for Miivoj Katnić, and Zoran Lazović.
"The Council of the Supreme Court, composed of judge Vesna Vučković as president of the panel and judges Marijana Pavićević and Ana Vuković as members of the panel, extended the detention of the defendant Z.L. due to reasonable suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of creating a criminal organization under Article 401 a paragraph 1 in relation to paragraph 6 of the Criminal Code of Montenegro, and M.K. due to the well-founded suspicion that he committed the crime of creating a criminal organization under Article 401a paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code of Montenegro," the Supreme Court announced on July 12.
As investigative journalist Šeki Radončić revealed in the author's text, special prosecutor Miloš Šoškić cited Milivoj Katnić's alleged influence on journalists as one of the reasons in the Proposal for the extension of custody. Prosecutor Šoškić targeted five journalists, Draško Đuranović, Šekija Radončić, Tamara Nikčević, Kaćuša Krsmanović, Darko Šuković, Samir Rastoder, as well as the award-winning writer and winner of the Njegoš Award, Milorad Popović, for communicating with Katnić. Prosecutor Šoškić blatantly tried to use the long-term professional and civil communication of the six media workers with Katnić to criminalize free and critical speech.
According to information from Television E, Milivoje Katnić, who was deprived of his freedom on April 14, has lost more than 30 kilograms in the Spuž Remand Prison and is in poor health.
