Kurban Bayram started today

The biggest Islamic holiday, Eid al-Adha, began today, and will be celebrated for four days.
The holiday is called Kurban Bayram because on that day a sacrifice is offered - a sacrifice (sheep or beef), which means getting closer to God by getting closer to people.
Sacrifice is an important part of Hajj.
This rite is performed by everyone who has the means to do so. It is customary to distribute the meat from the sacrifice to the poor, neighbors and relatives.
Kurban Bayram is also called Hajj because the main annual pilgrimage to the Kaaba in Mecca ends on that day.
The Hajj is one of the five main religious obligations for adult members of the Islamic faith, as long as they can finance the pilgrimage without jeopardizing the family's survival and normal life.
The Hajj is considered not only as a fulfillment of God's command, but also as proof of the equality of all members of the Islamic faith before Allah, and its goal is to confirm the unity and solidarity of the Islamic world.
All Muslim religious holidays are calculated according to the lunar year, not according to the solar year, and Kurban Bayram "falls" two months and ten days after Eid al-Fitr.
Meshihat wished all members of Islam a happy Eid holiday.
