Marked 76 years since the death of Krsto Zrnov Popović

In Lipa Cucka on Cetinje, a memorial service was held today on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of the death of General Krsto Zrnov Popović.
Montenegrin army general Krsto Todorov-Zrnov Popović was born on September 13, 1881 in Cuce, and was killed in an armed battle by an operational pursuit group of the UN, on the night between March 13 and 14, 1947, in a place called Coloring hill in Cuci.
He dedicated his whole life, as a soldier, officer and politician, to his homeland Montenegro, its flag, law, honor and freedom. He lived and died as a Montenegrin sovereignist.
The citizens of Cetinje demanded the erection of a monument to Krsto Zrnov Popović in Grahovska Street in Cetinje, an initiative signed by 638 citizens of Cetinje more than two years ago.
In the explanation of the initiative, in addition to the biography and historical facts related to Krsto Zrnov Popović, it is also stated that the task of the state of Montenegro and the Montenegrin social community was to carry out the formal, legal and political rehabilitation of this historically unjustly slandered figure.
