Milan Marović resigned

Member of the State Election Commission (SIK) from the Democratic Front (DF) Milan Marović resigned yesterday, after the decision was adopted at the session by which this institution will ask the Republic Election Commission (RIK) of Serbia to provide them with information on whether the leader of the Movement "Europe now" Milojko Spajić and the president of the New Serbian Democracy (NSD) Andrija Mandić exercise the right to vote and reside in that country.
He, along with members of the SEC from the Democratic Party of Socialists, the Bosniak Party and the Social Democrats, supported the adoption of that decision at yesterday's session.
Marović did not explain the reason for his resignation.
We remind you that in the draft of the request that the SEC will send to the RIK, they stated that the candidacy announcements indicate persons who exercise their right to vote in Serbia and have a registered residence in that country, and they reminded that the State Election Commission is obliged to declare their candidacy within 48 hours from submission.
The deadline determined by the law calls into question the SEC's ability to factually determine within the stated deadline whether there are obstacles to accepting the candidacy in relation to persons who may have the right to vote and reside in another country - they pointed out in the request.
