"NATO stands in solidarity with its valued ally Montenegro as it takes measures to protect its sovereignty and democracy in the face of Russian espionage and other destabilizing malicious activities," Stoltenberg wrote on Twitter.
He pointed out that the Western Balkans has a strategic importance for the Alliance and added that because of this NATO remains on guard.
