The Serbian portal republika.rs reports that the new US ambassador to Montenegro will be Bix Aliju, the right-hand man and translator of former US Secretary Madeleine Albright, from whom he has not been separated for years.
Aliju, an American of Albanian origin, takes office in the fall, and is known for his incendiary statements against Serbs. At one time, he said that Serbs from Montenegro should be transferred to Serbia by bus if they oppose joining NATO. He was previously arrested in Pristina, because, as this Serbian tabloid states, of Albanian separatists in the southern Serbian province in 1998, and today the independent state of Kosovo.
