Nikolić: Vucevic is inciting war and destabilizing the region

With the threats that "the recognition of Kosovo will hit Montenegro and North Macedonia like Ukraine", Serbian Defense Minister and President of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) Miloš Vučević is beating the drums of war and destabilizing the region, said a member of the Parliament of Montenegro and member of the Presidency of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Andrija Nikolić.
Showing that he has not learned much from the events of the near and far past, Vučević, as Nikolić says, deliberately overlooks the fact that Serbia signed the agreement in Kumanovo, which represents the capitulation of Milosevic's wartime regime, and that Milošević accepted that all military, paramilitary, police, parapolice and all other armed formations from Serbia permanently leave Kosovo.
Finally, Vučević reckons that the public in Montenegro has a short memory, and does not remember that with resolution 1244, Serbia agreed to leave Kosovo, which abolished the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia over Kosovo and established a procedure for determining the final status of Kosovo. Montenegro, like other countries, only formally recognized what was the factual situation on the ground, and that with one interest, that Serbia and Kosovo move forward. Vučević knows this, but he pretends to be ignorant, and then, from the role of warmonger, he descends to supposedly demographic topics, drawing a parallel between the participation of Serbs in the government of Montenegro, which is a civil state, with the participation of Albanians in the government of North Macedonia. As if our memories are not fresh that Serbia, through the SOC and its political agents, worked diligently to ensure that in the last three years the representation of Serbs in Montenegrin governments was adequate, and that the doors of the government were closed to the Montenegrins after whom the country is named. It is obvious that Vucevic and his superior consider only those who pay as Serbs - Nikolić pointed out.
That is why, as he states, they have a constant need to regulate the internal political order of other countries, and to deal with Montenegro as their internal political issue.
From the battle for Nikšić, through the political conquest of Budva, to the formation of the current government, all possible resources were engaged, from political, intelligence, media and others, so that the civic character of Montenegro would not be damaged - stressed Nikolić.
According to him, it is no secret that Vucevic and his boss find it attractive that, as the leaders of all Serbs in the region, they manage Montenegro through their hirelings.
However, the consequences of such ambitions are disastrous for the region, and make it an unstable area and a possible scene of conflict. Finally, there are many events in the recent history of their country, which warn them that this is bad for everyone, and especially for the citizens of Serbia, because big-state nationalism does not bring peace and prosperity - concluded Nikolić.
