Picula: The government has started well, the reforms should be implemented, not just voted on

AUTHOR: M.J.
The government has made a good start, but time will tell if it has enough capacity to deal with the consequences of the reforms that need not only to be voted on in parliament, but also to be implemented, said the member of the European Parliament, Tonino Picula.
Commenting on the 100 days of the Government, he said that the appointments to the judiciary, the population census, had a direct impact on the renewal of the accession process to the European Union (EU).
The government, therefore, has ambitious plans, it has started well, and time will tell if it has enough political capacity to deal with the consequences of the reforms that should not only be voted on in parliament, but also implemented - Picula told Radio Montenegro.
Picula said that it is good that political disagreements are communicated in institutions, and not in squares and streets.
The effort to seek consensus with the opposition on open issues is also encouraging, because in order to start closing the negotiation chapters with the EU, the chapter of confrontations, which are very fierce in Montenegro itself, must first be closed - said Picula, RTCG portal reports.
He said that it is important for further progress on the European path to continue negotiations with the EU institutions, but also communication with the member states of the Union.
This is important because the mandate of the European Commission and Parliament will soon expire and there will be a kind of interruption until the election of a new Parliament and Commission - said Picula.
