Politicians to put on the side of a daily political interests for the benefit of Montenegro

The Government of the German Government of the Western Balkans, Manuel Zaracin, urgently invited the Prophets in the Assembly of Montenegro to select the judge of the Constitutional Court no later than the beginning of February 2023 and to leave the daily political interests for the welfare of the state. He said that the current political and constitutional crisis is a serious threat to connect Montenegro to the European Union.

The shelter, who is visiting Montenegro today, said that he is very concerned about the prolongation of the political and constitutional crisis and the difficulties that political actors have in its transmission.

"I can only reiterate that the functional Constitutional Court is of utmost importance for democracy and the rule of law in Montenegro. At the Montenegro Assembly, it is that by choosing a judge for the places for which the competition was announced, the functionality of that court would regulate as soon as possible to ensure an effective judiciary, ”he said.

He emphasized that without the functional Constitutional Court, the judiciary of Montenegro remains paralyzed and the rule of law is deeply weakened.

"That is why I urgently invite all parties represented in the Assembly to demonstrate political maturity and to constructively approach the arrangement of the agreement by the beginning of February 2023 at the latest," said Provacin.

He pointed out that political parties in Montenegro should now, for the benefit of the future of Montenegro, put aside daily political interests and personal ambitions and to overcome this crisis.

“The success or failure of the development of Montenegro and its democracy depends on their treatment. The vast majority of Montenegro citizens want their homeland to join the European Union. The current political and constitutional crisis is a serious threat to accomplish this goal, "he said.

He pointed out that in these geopolitical and economically demanding times, Germany, as a member of the European Union, remains dedicated to the commitment of Montenegro to join the European Union and strongly support the European Orientation of Montenegro.

"My visit to Montenegro is aimed at looking at the future together. That is why I want to get into an intense dialogue directly with the Prophets, political parties and donations from the people, and also with civil society experts, ”he said in the statement.
