European experts supported a set of laws important for the EU agenda in the opinion submitted to the Montenegrin government, writes the RTCG portal
In the opinion submitted to the Government today, European experts stated that the changes made at the Government Commission last Thursday are of a technical nature and are not related to the "acquis" - the legal acquis of the EU.
The Government informed them that the Laws will be forwarded to the Assembly as soon as possible, with the hope that they will be adopted as soon as possible.
When it comes to media laws, it is necessary to determine the proposals for the law on media, the law on the Public Media Service RTCG and the law on audio visual media services.
The government should determine the proposals of several laws in the field of justice and the fight against corruption and organized crime, because this is very important for the positive opinion of the European Commission.
In the first place, we mean the laws on confiscation of property benefits acquired through criminal activity, on judges and the Judicial Council, on the special prosecutor's office and the Code of Criminal Procedure.
A positive opinion was received for all IBAR laws, as laws from the EU agenda are often called. IBAR, the report of the European Commission is expected in June, and by then the Government should determine the proposals for those laws.
Originally, the Government session was supposed to be held on Saturday, but it was postponed.
If IBAR, the European Commission's June report, is positive, Montenegro can make an important step forward in the area of rule of law and negotiations on Chapters 23 and 24 in the middle of the year.
