AUTHOR: M.J.
Croatia's Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Gordan Grlić Radman, emphasized the support for the Croatian minority in Montenegro, as well as support for Montenegro on its European path, Croatian Radio Television reports.
Radman, who is in Montenegro on the occasion of celebrating the Day of the Croatian Nation, had a meeting in Tivat with the vice-presidents of the municipalities of Tivat and Kotor, after which a meeting was held with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, Filip Ivanović.
We talked about those open issues that have burdened the relations between the two states for 34 years. From the very beginning, Croatia has supported Montenegro on its way to NATO, membership in NATO and what Montenegro has become, and of course, Croatia also supports Montenegro in its pursuit of EU membership. However, we opened all the issues that are the legacy of the Homeland War a few years ago, a plaque was placed in Morinj for which we express our wish that it will of course continue to remain on the building of the infamous Morinj camp. We also talked about borders, that members of the border commission should be formed as soon as possible from the Montenegrin side. For us, the land border is indisputable, but we have to solve the issue of the border at sea - Radman told the media after the meeting.
According to HRT, Deputy Prime Minister and Croatian Defense Minister Ivan Anušić was supposed to be at the ministerial meeting, but he decided to change his arrival schedule and will arrive only in the afternoon.
The reason for this could certainly be the recent statements of the Montenegrin Minister of Defense Dragan Krapović, who said that Montenegro will not return the training ship Jadran to Croatia, which Croatia has been looking for for years, but also that he expects to negotiate with Croatia on the delimitation of the Prevlača peninsula. who, as he says, controls the entire Boko Kotor bay - said HRT journalist Vicko Dragojević.
He adds that Montenegro has been going through various political changes for a long time.
Croatia has always been highlighted as a good neighbor, the first partner in Euro-Atlantic integration. All open questions and all conflicts were avoided. It seems that this avoidance has come to an end - reported Dragojević.
The Day of the Croatian People is celebrated on January 13 because that day is known as the Day of the Transfer of the Relics of Saint Tripun to Kotor in 809, known as Karike.
On the occasion of the holiday, Croatian flags were displayed on the building of the Municipality of Tivat and the Municipality of Kotor.
