Radulović: Spajić offers an unconstitutional model of dual citizenship

AUTHOR: M.J.
President of the Association of Lawyers of Montenegro, prof. Dr. Branislav Radulović for Portal Analitika commented on Prime Minister Spajić's statement about the announced changes to the Law on Citizenship, with the context that whoever comes will not have the right to vote for 10 years.
On the basis of possibly insufficiently clearly communicated statements, the first addresses of the executive power, the first thing that can be seen is that the Prime Minister did not consult his (constitutional) legal advisors or was very poorly advised, because the "offered solution" is unconstitutional and inconsistent with Article 45 of the Constitution of Montenegro - emphasized Radulović.
This, as he points out, superficially communicated position, must be additionally objected to the fact that the Law on Citizenship cannot (contrary to the Constitution) regulate voting rights.
- In the belief that it is either a bad interpretation of the economist who explained "a very complex legal institute" or an insufficiently prepared initiative, the hope remains that the prime minister will consult relevant legal experts on this topic in the future - concluded Radulović for Analitika.
