Radulović: Vučić's obsession is Montenegro

The President of Serbia, outside of his constitutional powers and in a paternalistic manner from Milošević's time, has been commenting extremely inappropriately and, above all, inaccurately within the Montenegrin political situation - the co-president of the Igman Initiative for Montenegro, Professor Branislav Radulović, assessed for Danas, reacting to the speech of the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, who said that Serbs have nothing in Montenegro.
Yesterday, Aleksandar Vučić, in a guest appearance on RTS, said, among other things, that the Serbs in Montenegro have nothing but 30 percent of them, while they are ready to give what they want to the Albanians in North Macedonia, who are 24 percent.
Radulović says that bringing back the spirit of the nineties, "the Serbian president does not stop using the policy of 'disruptive factor' to transfer his manner of ruling and usurping jurisdiction to other countries in the region".
In Montenegro, in addition to actively interfering in local elections, occupying the media space and installing his "actors" in the security services and political parties, he is now in the phase of agreement on the new 44th Montenegrin government disrupting that process with exclusive and provocative statements, which is understandably identified by the international community - stated Radulović.
And finally, he continues, "the Serbian president very deliberately and politically divides the Serbian nation, so that only those who follow his party or are under its political or financial control have the right to be Serbs."
Radulović believes that opposition-oriented citizens of Belgrade and the whole of Serbia feel this best, when he (Vučić) gathers "Serbs from the region" at counter rallies in order to deal with the civil opposition and peaceful demonstrators protesting against his party and the way of government in his name. Serbia.
Like Slobodan Milošević, he says, in order to divert attention from internal problems in Serbia, he "finds" endangered Serbs in other countries and appears as a "savior".
All that remains is for him, in his unsurpassed media populism, to threaten the local authorities in the city of Vienna regarding the position of the Serbs, who are the third largest national community in this city and which, according to the number of inhabitants of the Serbian nationality, is the fourth largest Serbian city according to that criterion. - pointed out Radulović.
He notes that even today more Serbs live in the Republic of Croatia (186,633) than in Montenegro (178,500). In addition to Croatia, there are even more Serbs in six other countries than in Montenegro: Germany, Austria, BiH, USA, Switzerland and Australia.
Nevertheless, he says, in the last two years, Vučić's obsession is Montenegro, even though today there are at least five ruling parties in Montenegro, at the local and state level, which are "pro-Serbian" or dominated by members or leadership that declare themselves nationally.
However, the Serbian president is very deliberate and extremely manipulative, despite the fact that since August 30, 2020, pro-Serbian parties or those under the strong influence of the SPC are strongly dominating, he is helping to "suppress Serbianism" in Montenegro - said Radulović.
At the same time, for the extremely long period of his reign, as he said, both as prime minister and as president, regardless of who was in power in Podgorica, almost nothing was done to improve the transport infrastructure between the two countries, improvements in the field of education, healthcare or joint representation of businessmen on third markets.
The airline that he controls on the Belgrade - Podgorica route has one of the most expensive tickets, and the Belgrade - Bar railway is a "stop" that cannot be found anywhere else in Europe. At the same time, formal diplomatic relations are at a historical minimum, although three governments have changed in Podgorica in the meantime. In the meantime, the favorites of the Serbian president are Orban and Rama, pushing the already failed "Open Balkans" project and installing their own "structure" in the states of the region, thus disrupting their already fragile pro-European structures and efforts - stressed Radulović.
Therefore, as he adds, it is quite clear that the motives for the occupation of Montenegro are not "sublime and nationally enlightened".
They are already contained in the assessment that his "favorites", in which he invested significant logistics and money, may not have all the levers of power that would give him the power not only to conduct within the political processes and foreign policy of Montenegro, but also its energy sector. ports, privatizations - concluded Radulović.
