Rakočević: Demonstration of Great Serbian nationalism in Montenegro

AUTHOR: M.J.
The celebration of the Statehood Day of Serbia in Pljevlje is just one in a series of demonstrations of the penetration of Greater Serbian nationalism in Montenegro - said the representative of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) Nikola Rakočević.
Three years ago, when Dritan Abazović introduced parties that fought to prevent Montenegro from existing at all, they began to undermine the foundations and the Constitution of Montenegro. They did that at every step, even when they were the opposition. What Milojko Spajić did, Dritan Abazović didn't do either, which is that he directly placed these policies in the executive and legislative power, i.e. at the head of the Parliament - reminded Rakočević in a guest appearance on Television E.
This, as he says, is only the penultimate stage of the demonstration of Great Serbian nationalism in Montenegro, and it began with the flag of the Republic of Serbia in the cabinet of the President of the Assembly.
Dario Vraneš is not an isolated case, remember Budva, Nikšić, Kotor, Beran... So, it is the policy that is ruling in Montenegro today, which aims to collapse the multi-ethnic democracy in Montenegro, the anti-fascist civil character, and to help Greater Serbian nationalism. Not Serbian politics, which is completely legitimate, but Greater Serbian nationalism. Well, that is on the scene today and we all have to resist it. Therefore, not only political parties, but all citizens, with all the democratic means available - said Rakočević.
He believes that, if the reconstruction of the Government takes place, it will be the final message that Europe and Milojko Spajić are, in fact, as he said, the Torian horse of Greater Serbian nationalism.
What else to call it? Many in the opposition are trying to support that part of the parliamentary majority, lest it come to its senses and move to the side of the European civic and Euro-Atlantic parties. However, they persistently demonstrate the need to give additional legitimacy to the policy of the Democratic Front - adds Rakočević.
He believes that the members of the former Democratic Front, when they are in the executive power, will go to Belgrade even more often and that the instructions they should receive will be more intensive and more frequent.
The fact that Mr. Mandić, his entire cabinet and of course all his coalition partners are often in Belgrade, either as a party member or as a state, is a shame for Montenegro - said Rakočević.
He believes that the national identity and national interest are threatened, and thus the planned Euro-Atlantic path of Montenegro. The question, he adds, is when the international partners, who advocated for Montenegro to be a civil, multi-ethnic, European state, will understand that they are calling for Montenegro to return to the Euro-Atlantic track, not loudly and clearly enough.
And that is the key question. Of course, apart from that, we in Montenegro should not sleep and wait for that moment, but commit ourselves to do everything in our power to try to reach a better Montenegro - said Rakočević.
Andrija Mandić's visit to Brussels, he says, is a protocol one, because whoever is elected as president of parliament, president of state and prime minister in a country that is a candidate for membership in the European Union, will receive a protocol invitation from Brussels.
This, he adds, does not mean that European officials turn a blind eye to Mandić's politics.
They know very well who Andrija Mandić is. I expect and hope, and we will do everything in our power, to speed up the reaction to what is happening in Montenegro, the direct reflex of which is actually that Andrija Mandić is at the head of the parliament, with the flag of another country behind him and with a policy that undermines the constitutional and legal foundations of Montenegro - concluded Rakočević.
