Representatives of the US Coast Guard in Montenegro: Will continue to provide professional assistance

Representatives of the US Coast Guard visited Montenegro from June 26 to 29, and the purpose of the visit was to verify the fulfillment of the requirements for the security protection of ships and ports (International Code for the Security of Ships and Ports ISPS Code), as well as to exchange experiences in this area.
During the visit, a meeting was held with representatives of the Ministry of Capital Investments, and representatives of the US Coast Guard paid a working visit to "Luka Bar" AD, "Port of Adria" AD and "Luka Kotor" AD. In this way, they became familiar with the procedures in the field of port security protection, which are applied in Montenegrin ports in accordance with national and international regulations and guidelines.
On this occasion, a training was organized on the topic: "Implementation of the ISPS Code in the cruise industry", which was attended by representatives of the port and the maritime administration.
We remind you that the ISPS Code was implemented in the national legislation through the Law on Security Protection of Ships and Ports, which regulates the method of security protection of ships and ports for berthing and anchoring of ships, procedures in the event of an event that endangers or may endanger the safety of ships and ports, and other issues of importance for the security protection of ships and ports - was announced by the Ministry of Capital Investments.
At the end of the visit, representatives of the US Coast Guard presented their observations and made recommendations for the improvement of activities in this area. Also, both sides expressed the intention to intensify cooperation and continue providing professional assistance to the Montenegrin maritime administration and employees in the ports.
