SCANDALOUS - Abazović is trying to prevent the diaspora from coming to vote on April 2!

On Friday, March 24, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent a letter to all diplomatic and consular missions of Montenegro warning our personnel in embassies and consulates, under the threat of sanctions, not to "get involved in a political campaign" and not to leave to meet the possible requests of members of the Montenegrin diaspora regarding assistance in arriving in Montenegro before the second round of presidential elections on April 2, Pobjeda learns.

Information about the actions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was first published by the Standard portal yesterday, and Pobjeda confirmed from several Montenegrin diplomatic missions that, after the written dispatch from Podgorica, many of our diplomatic representatives expressed surprise at the content of the "instruction".

HUMILIATION OF THE STATE

The Ministry's scandalous letter, coordinated by the outgoing Prime Minister Dritan Abazović, was not written uniformly, but the content of the letter, which was sent to about twenty addresses, varies in individual sentences, presumably with the intention that, in the event of disclosure of the communication, the competent person in the diplomatic-consular representation would be called on responsibility.

In the letter, Montenegrin diplomats in embassies and consulates are warned that it will be "punishable to organize and help the diaspora to come and vote" in the presidential elections on April 2!

A similar letter has not been recorded in the history of Montenegrin diplomacy since the restoration of independence in 2006, and it is clearly motivated by the intention to prevent Montenegrin citizens who have the right to vote to express themselves before the second round of presidential elections, which is in direct conflict with the Constitution of Montenegro. and the Law on Foreign Affairs.

DRITAN'S TASK

And this is a kind of proof that the outgoing Prime Minister Abazović, as the leader of Ura, did his best to ensure that the presidential candidate Jakov Milatović gained an advantage before the second round of elections, even at the cost of violating the Constitution and the law.

Former Slovenian Defense Minister Roman Jakič also commented on the letter yesterday, stating on Twitter that the act was deplorable and shameful.

- It is very sad and shameful that the Government and its Ministry of Foreign Affairs are afraid of their own citizens, their right to vote in elections - said Jakič.

JOINT VENTURE

That the letter, which was apparently conceived and implemented by the coordinator of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dritan Abazović and his adviser Đorđe Radulović, is a planned campaign to help the presidential candidate Jakov Milatović, is also proven by the recent appearance of the acting assistant director of the Directorate for Cooperation with the Diaspora, Arben Jakupi.

In a statement to the media on March 22, Jakupi stated that Đukanović's invitation to the diaspora to vote in the second round of the presidential elections in Montenegro was an "obvious political abuse" and stated that "expatriates in large numbers will not respond to this invitation".

And from the forum in Rožaje, on Sunday, presidential candidate Jakov Milatović was "worried" that the votes of the diaspora could be sent to his opponent Đukanović.

- Today, our diaspora is invited to vote. They remembered them now, even though all these years the diaspora has been helping Montenegro and the municipalities from which they were driven out by adversity. That is why it is not fair that they are now being used as a tool for electoral engineering - said Milatović.

And Milatović knew what he was talking about: because two days earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had sent a dispatch to diplomatic and consular missions warning the heads of missions to take risks - if they helped Montenegrin citizens?!

ABUSE OF DIPLOMACY

The politicization of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the warning sent to the heads of Montenegrin diplomatic missions is an unprecedented abuse of the diplomatic network. And it is more typical of autocratic regimes than of a country that is pleading to be the first next member of the European Union.

At the same time, it shows the matrix of manipulative politics of the outgoing prime minister.

The information that the diplomatic missions received formally different dispatches - changed in details, but with the same general warning - indicates that Abazović tried to "protect" that the shameful content of the instructions did not reach the public. And to discover, at the same time, an undisciplined diplomat who would forward this content to the media and then punish him according to an accelerated procedure.

The truth, however, could not be hidden: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a written act, requested that our diaspora be challenged in every way to express their right to vote.

But not to the entire diaspora, but only to those whom they believe will vote for Đukanović.

Because, while Prime Minister Abazović is trying to prevent part of our citizens from coming to vote, his Hooray, via Twitter, invites the "desirable" diaspora to come on April 2nd, "so that together they can consign Đukanović to the political past"!

Could it be more insidious and shameful?

VLAHOVIĆ: MFA against its own citizens

The former head of Montenegrin diplomacy and the current president of the Montenegrin Helsinki Committee for Human Rights, Miodrag Vlahović, assesses that the instruction by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs forbids our diplomatic and consular missions - under the threat of punishment to diplomats who disobey such an "instruction" - to help the citizens of Montenegro who work in abroad in the organization of their arrival in the country on the occasion of voting in the presidential elections - "another indicator of the deep disorder and advanced stage of the targeted destruction of the Montenegrin diplomatic service".

- The MFA of Montenegro and those who lead it - the outgoing technical prime minister and his advisor (the sacked minister of foreign affairs), both people with little knowledge, modest experience and bad intentions - do not serve our country and our citizens, but have been put at the service of other people's interests. This kind of instruction, written according to the dictates of those structures that from the outside - from Serbia - channel political processes in our country, is unprecedented in diplomatic practice - points out Vlahović for Pobjeda.

He emphasizes that diplomatic and consular missions, which should always and at every opportunity be at the service of our citizens - even when it comes to exercising active voting rights - are prevented from performing their function by such illegal orders.

- It should be remembered that such harmful and anti-state activity characterized the foreign policy and diplomacy of the August authorities from the very beginning. Now it is clear that, under the guise of the "professionalization" of diplomacy - of which there is not even a trace, processes of quite the opposite content are taking place - because, now it is obvious, we have a continuous effort of its complete politicization and reduction to the execution of daily political needs, but, more importantly and more harmfully, also the long-term interests of the political clique that is collapsing national and state interests. Thus, politics from the positions of Great Serbian nationalism and the Serbian great state program put the remnants of the Montenegrin diplomatic network, which is purposefully and programmatically collapsing, in the position of an ordinary postal network and, in a better case, a service for the organization of official and other visits of Abazović and his company - assesses Vlahović.

He reminds that the dismissed Minister of Foreign Affairs Radulović, the current advisor to Prime Minister Abazović, once sent false information about the events at the Belvedere on September 4 and 5, 2021, and emphasizes that it is the same matrix of political sabotage.

- I regret that I have to state that this latest diversion and sabotage is as harmful and destructive as the one when the minister-second secretary sent false information and malicious interpretations about the events in Cetinje and Belvedere on September 4 and 5, 2021. which is why he was later dismissed. Now, under the command of Abazović, he continues to do the same, through henchmen in the Ministry itself, which is severely crippled in the personnel segment as well - Vlahović concluded in a statement for Pobjeda.
