SD: We provide full support to Zarko Bozovic, RTCG to respect the Constitution

The Social Democrats (SD) said they were supporting journalist Zarko Bozovic in his intention to "investigate the Constitution of guaranteed rights".

The SD invited RTCG, headed by director Boris Raonic and editor of the First Program of Radio Montenegro Milutin Tomasevic, to “cease to violate the highest legal act of this country and to deal with Mr. Bozovic just because he uses Jotov's version of the Montenegrin language, to which otherwise, Like any other citizen of Montenegro, he has a full right. "

"In trying to get as objective as possible of this situation, we did not allow ourselves as a party to fly out and respond to the" first ball ", as it was the case with RTCG management when reporting 5 and 6 September 2021. in Cetinje, when the false news could have caused civic conflicts in Montenegro.

However, it is now completely clear that Zarko Bozovic is the victim of only one - the fact that he is nationally declaring himself a Montenegrin and is used by a jodly version of the Montenegrin language, which, fortunately or misfortune of public service management, is an official language by the Constitution, ”they said from the SD.

The SD asked what the attitude of Tomasevic meant that "language on public service should standardize."

“What does the attitude of the editor of Tomasevic mean, and in writing, that language in public service should standardize, the question is that we do not get an answer from management. As well as the basis of the RTCG director and the editor of the first radio program competent to standard the Montenegrin, or any other language, ”they add.

The use of the official language defined by the Constitution of Montenegro, despite the personal preferences of individuals in management, may not, in the SD, in no case be called into question.

"That is why we give full support to journalist Zarko Bozovic, urging RTCG management to immediately interrupt to persecute a professional because he feels like a Montenegrin," they conclude in a statement.
