SDT blocked the property of Veljović and Mrkić

By order of the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT), the assets of former police director Veselin Veljović and businessman Aleksandar Mrkić, whom the police are looking for, were blocked.
According to data from the cadastre, as reported by the Public Service portal, the ban on the disposal of real estate was registered on July 28 of this year.
Prohibition of disposal by order of SDT KTI-S.BR.143/20 of July 26, 2023 - it is stated in the cadastral data on the property of Veljović and Mrkić in Podgorica.
The higher court in Podgorica recently rejected the appeals of the defense attorneys of Velin Veljović, Nikola Mrkić and Mujo Nikočević against the court's decision to remand the three suspects in custody for up to 30 days.
Veljović, Mujo Nikočević and Nikola Mrkić were arrested on Monday, and they were detained for up to 30 days. Veljović is accused of providing official information to the suspected leader of the criminal group, Aleksandar Mrkić, and thus helping him to commit certain acts of smuggling. All of them denied the criminal acts they were charged with.
The Acting Director of the Police Administration, Nikola Terzić, announced on Monday evening for TVCG that the correspondence from the Sky application was the reason for the formation of the case.
Lawyer Nikola Martinović, who represents Veljović, said earlier that his client is not accused of participating in smuggling, but that he communicated some information to Mrkić that he allegedly "could use in his business connections". He also announced that Veljović denied guilt at the hearing.
Veljović is accused of assisting in criminal operations by providing Mrkić with information from the police about planned searches and actions, which Portal RTCG recently wrote about, citing the Order of the SDT on expanding the investigation.
