Slovenian PEN Center: Katnić is a victim of a rigged process, release him immediately

The Slovenian PEN Center announced that they are joining the Montenegrin PEN Center in supporting former chief special prosecutor Milivoj Katnić.

They allege that he is a victim of a rigged process and legally disputed procedures aimed at preventing his work.

- Out of desperation, Katnić decided to go on a hunger strike without food and drink, so his life is in great danger. We call on the international public and European institutions to urgently call on the state authorities of Montenegro to release Katnić immediately - they say in the announcement.

We remind you that the former chief special prosecutor Milivoje Katnić, who has not taken food for more than 25 days in the detention unit of the Investigation Prison in Spuz, went on a hunger strike from May 6, as the ultimate protest that the special prosecutor Miloš Šoškić and the investigating judge Goran Šćepanović, they continuously violate his legally guaranteed rights, but also try to thwart Katnić's participation in the proceedings and the hearing of witnesses in the investigation conducted against him.

A group of Montenegrin intellectuals and civil activists sent an appeal to the domestic and international public regarding the violation of human rights and endangering the life of Milivoj Katnić.
