State secretaries from the SDP submitted their resignations

State secretaries from the Social Democratic Party, Amina Cikotić, Budimir Mugoša and Petar Odžić, resigned from their positions in the ministries of sports and youth, agriculture, forestry and water management, and capital investments.

Explaining the resignations, they assessed that the Government, which was voted no-confidence in the Parliament of Montenegro, lost its legitimacy to conduct internal policy in its full capacity, including in those departments.

Cikotić, Mugoša and Odžić stated in their explanations that, as politically appointed persons in the Government, they consider it appropriate that in such circumstances they no longer perform the duties of state secretaries.

They, with gratitude for the correct cooperation so far, asked the relevant ministers to process their resignations at the next first session of the Government.

"As a politically appointed person in the Government, I consider it appropriate that in such circumstances I no longer perform the duties of State Secretary in the Government of Montenegro," their announcements state.

They say that, understanding their duties as responsibly as possible, "they fully tried to ensure that during the term of office all activities and work duties were carried out in the best interest of the state and all its citizens".
